The West Forsyth baseball team has been off to a tremendous season this year. Being ranked second in their conference and thirteenth in North Carolina, the sky is the limit for this team. A major factor in many of these games is senior catcher Will Holden, who has been having a good season all around and is looking forward to continuing to play baseball at the next level. Being ranked highly amongst catchers in the state, Holden is looking forward to what comes next, with where he’s going to play baseball at Wake Forest and how he’s going to adapt and make changes to his game with transferring into this new environment.
“Being at Wake will allow me to surround myself with people who have the same goal as me and push me every day to get better,” Holden said.
This change to a new level of play and environment is going to be difficult, but nothing a West Forsyth Titan can’t handle. Speaking on the same subject of adapting from the West Forsyth team, you would wonder how West’s team compares to others, not only in game play but also in the environment.
“I’m super excited for the next level. West Forsyth has taught me how to fail as well as succeed, so no matter what, God has a plan, and I will work super hard to adapt. Being at West has been a tremendous amount of success. We have made it to round 4 the past two years and won numerous conference championships, and we look to make another run here soon,” Holden said.
West has always been a step above the rest, and it’s clear to see Holden sees it in the same way. Another aspect that West has always been better at, is teamwork, and for baseball, that is no exception. Baseball is one of the sports where teamwork and trust are the fundamentals of the sport.
“The teamwork this year has been amazing, we are a super close-knit group and love spending time with each other on and off the field,” Holden said.
West Forsyth baseball is unmatched in this regard, just like how West is unmatched in many sports. The team is having a great season, and Holden is one of the key pieces that holds them together. Let’s wish him and the Titans off to a good season and good luck in their upcoming matches and in the playoffs.
