Rather than sticking with the same fast-food options in Clemmons, there is now a new option of going to Five Guys.
“Lewisville-Clemmons has every single fast-food restaurant in God’s name on that street, Five Guys is one of the best things we’ve ever received,” senior Paige Sidney said.
Before Five Guys, the building located at was previously occupied by Time to Eat, a southern restaurant that closed in 2018. After remaining empty for five years, Five Guys obtained the building.
“These abandoned buildings can’t just sit here and rot here forever; they need to be used for something productive,” sophomore Emma Rowe said.
Five Guys has been an established business in Forsyth County since 2008, starting off with two locations in Winston-Salem. Then, they opened another restaurant in Kernersville in 2022. There are now a total of four locations in Forsyth County.
“I am so excited about the new Five Guys, the way they’re advertising their food looks really appetizing and I bet it will taste really good. Hopefully the restaurant draws attention,” freshman Suzette Ventura said.
When it comes to food, Five Guys goes all out. According to the company, there are more than 250,000 ways to customize your burger and over 1,000 different milkshake combinations. In addition, fresh ground beef is used, their fries are double-cooked with 100 percent peanut oil, fresh ingredients are used and peanuts are available while customers wait for their order.
“The fries are really good. I like how they serve you a large amount of fries,” sophomore Corben Johnson said.
Five Guys is offering applications to anyone who is 16 or older. Employees can earn $13 per hour and tips are granted. Any students interested in applying can visit their website, https://www.fiveguys.com/en/Careers.
