In the midst of the school year, seniors are stressed and trying to get their schoolwork done before they graduate and enter the next chapter of their lives. The spring of senior year marks the start of the annual senior assassins, a game of slime or be slimed. To enter, you must pay a $12 fee to the person running the game, Audrey Lane. Participants can eliminate or be eliminated if they get shot with a water gun; however, there are some rules that can save you.
The objective of the game is to get everyone out and be the last one standing. The game comes with requirements to start out. To be considered safe, female participants must be wearing a sports bra and spandex while male participants must be wearing only swim trunks, no shirt. Even if a participant is wearing their safe clothes, they are not considered safe if they are holding any article of clothing. Participants aren’t safe if wearing a jacket, a hat, ski masks or even sunglasses. You might be thinking, “How hard could it be? All you have to do to stay in is to stay in your safe clothes 24/7,” but there are some tricky exceptions to the safe clothes rule that participants need to remember if they really want to move on to the next rounds.
There are specific hours and locations you can and can not get out during. You can’t get out during school hours or on campus. You have one minute to get to work and out of work.. Each round, the rules are changed making it tricky to survive and win. The places you are able to get eliminated, can change to where you are able to get someone out on campus and/or in their car, going to work. If you get eliminated, you have an opportunity to get back in by finding the object that the person in charge of the game had placed around Clemmons. The object can be seen as a safety or redemption. If you fail to eliminate your target in the first round, in the second round, you are an open target, meaning, you can get out by anyone. People who were previously out or are now an open target are able to rejoin the game by eliminating another open target. The most important thing you must do to get your target eliminated is to film and submit it to the person in charge. The video would be posted on the senior assassin Instagram page: @westfo_seniorassasins2026.
At the start of the games, seniors didn’t hesitate to go after their first target. Reese Stephens eliminated Dillon Barker, Nicholas Goodrum eliminated Rylan Compton, and Jace Isler eliminated Lincoln Stone.
The eliminations on March 19th left off with Chloe Schram eliminating Brooke Cosby, Troy Brown eliminating Ella Fergus and Coston Colamarino eliminating Cameron Berry. Though the account shows how the person got out, they never explain what happened behind the scenes and how it got to that point.
“I heard from Gabby that she and AJ actually saw Ella’s car near McDonald’s when they were headed over there. I headed right over and Ella just kind of showed up while we were walking out, so I pulled out my water gun and shot her,” Brown said.
The video shows Ella getting out of her car, on her phone. Troy ran up behind her with a water gun and shot her in the back multiple times.
“I made several attempts to get some open targets, but unfortunately, I was caught wearing a sweatshirt outside a restaurant and was shot in the back before I could get anyone,” Fergus said.
“I texted the people I knew that were friends with him, and I was told he was going to McDonald’s, so I went inside and waited for him outside the bathroom, and made sure he didn’t have safe clothes on, then I got him,” Stephens said.
The video shows people crowded in a McDonald’s, and Dillon walking to what looks like the bathroom, Reese coming up behind him, and shooting him with the water gun.
“I was at a basketball game, and decided to go get some food with some friends. I thought someone else had me, that person did not have me, and I thought I was safe, but I wasn’t, and when I came out of the bathroom, I got shot,” Barker said.
Troy Brown has been persistent in eliminating people and right now, holding the record of 11 kills, the most eliminations out of everyone playing. Meanwhile, Dillon Barker didn’t even get a chance to eliminate anyone and instead got eliminated first, out of the game until redemption for the next round.
Many people play for the $1,000 cash prize, and some play just for the love of the game. The $1,000 cash prize isn’t the only reward. The person who gets the most kills receives $125. The game should be fun and a good way for seniors to have fun while school is happening. As of now, there are two to three more rounds.
