With the weather warming up and springtime in the air, students all around campus are awaiting one special event: prom. Prom is a crucial part of high school for many students, but whether they’re planning on going or not, we asked them for their plans for the night.
“I’m going to get a limo with my friends and then we’re just going to hang out and chill together after. I have my dress picked out; it has sequins and a bunch of different colors. It’s really cute,” senior Bella Walker said.
“I’m not going to prom because I’ll be hanging out with my boyfriend instead. We’re just going to go on a date to a restaurant that I’ve wanted to go to for a while,” junior Leah Cheek said.
“I’m going to be at the winter guard competition with all of my guard friends and we’re gonna kick butt. We’re gonna win. I’m a little sad that I’m missing my junior prom, but I will be going next year,” junior Breanna Bledsoe said.
“I’m going to dinner with my friends, then going to prom. I’m wearing my sister’s dress to prom this year, instead of spending money on a new one,” senior Bella Jiang said.
“I’m getting my makeup done, I’m gonna take pictures with my friends, then I’m going to go to prom. I don’t have a date right now, so if anybody would be my date, I am open,” junior Tiye Freeman said.
“I’m going to Reynolda Gardens to take pictures with a few of my friends. We are going to the Village Tavern to eat, and then we are going to prom and we’re gonna have fun,” junior Jurney Atwater said.
“What I want to do for prom is get my girl flowers and take pictures. I am matching my suit and tie to her dress, which is blue, and I’m gonna get her a corsage,” senior Dorian Harris said.
“I already found my dress for prom. It is purple with flowers, and during prom I’m gonna party with some friends,” junior Katelyn Skovera said.
“I think I’m going to try and third wheel with my best friend, and see if I can bother them, enjoy myself a little bit. I’m really just going for the food, more than likely. I still need to go shopping for a suit, though,” junior Jackson Bright said.
“I’m hanging out with my friends, I’m probably going to dance. My dress for prom is teal and it’s long with a slit. I’m doing my own hair, it’s gonna have a teal stripe for my hair,” junior Jaliyah France said.
“I plan on going to prom with some of my friends from downtown school and we planned to just have a good time dancing. My friend Lincoln likes to dance and I have to dance too, so we’ll just show some dance moves. My dad also owns a tuxedo shop in Winston, so he’s probably been cooking on something good for me to wear,” junior Emenike Okafor said.
“I’m gonna get a new suit, probably go out with my friends and party there. Then afterwards we’re gonna have a get together at my house, probably have a little barbecue, maybe get some gifts and have a good night,” junior Grant Hoover said.
“I’m probably going to go by myself because I did that last year, and it went really well. If I get invited to go with some friends, then I would go with them. I have a suit picked out with red accents and a red tie,” senior Conner Holmes.
“As of right now, for prom, we’re obviously all gonna get ready, and then we’re gonna go take pictures, location is to be determined. Then we’re gonna go to dinner at River Birch Lodge, and then, obviously, prom for a little bit, and afterwards, we’re going to Sheetz to get slushies,” junior Lily Hardy said.
As the school year comes to an end, we hope everyone going to prom has the best night of their lives, filled with dancing, fancy outfits, and most importantly, food.
