None of the Above performs in Shallowford Square. Their music is a distinct blend of bluegrass with each band member’s personal style.

The weather is beginning to cool down and leaves are turning brown. This can mean only one thing: fall festivities are back. Here are a few fun events you should be sure to check out:

Outdoor Music Event in Shallowford Square – Saturday Oct. 9 5:30 – 8 p.m.
In an effort to bring the community together after the last 18 months of the pandemic, the Shallow Ford Foundation will be sponsoring an outdoor music event in the heart of Lewisville. The featuring band, NOTA (None of the Above), has been performing across the Triad for over 25 years. There will be food trucks, fun and plenty of music.

ByGood Coffee Fall Art Pop Up – Sunday Oct. 17 12 – 4 p.m.
A fun event for all ages, this pop-up art showcase is the last one of the year. Since the beginning of the year, the Arts Council of Winston-Salem & Forsyth County and ByGood coffee have sponsored two other pop-up events. The purpose of them is to give artists and creators an opportunity to display and sell their artworks and crafts. The event will be held at 301 Brookstown Ave. in Winston-Salem. In addition to all of the works, there will also be crafts for kids and live musical performances.

Battle of the Badges – Saturday Oct. 23 3 – 9 p.m.
Want to watch the Winston-Salem Police Department, Winston-Salem Fire and Rescue and the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office battle it out on the softball field? Check out the third annual Battle of the Badges at the David F. Couch Ball Park. Admission is free and a Ford Mustang GT will be raffled off. All proceeds from the raffle will go towards the Pretty In Pink Foundation, supporting the fight against breast cancer. This event is a great time for a great cause.

WS/FCS Jamboree – Tuesday Oct. 26 3 – 9 p.m.
Jamboree is an annual showcase held in Forsyth County for competing schools marching bands. Each band will have a chance to perform for a crowd who is there just for them. This year’s showcase will be held in our very own West Forsyth football stadium. Not only is it a fun and unique way to get involved with the whole community, but proceeds made from sales will go towards each school’s band program. Come on out, show your support and enjoy the show.

The Miles for Meals 5K – Saturday Nov. 6 begins 5:30 p.m.
The Miles for Meals 5k is a run through Tanglewood Park under all the LEDs of the Festival of Lights. Tickets are only $30 until Nov. 4. There will be food trucks, bounce houses and of course, the light show. Proceeds from ticket sales go towards the Manna Meals Soup Ministry. It’s sure to be a de-light-ful time for the whole family.

With so many fall activities happening around town, you’re sure to find something to do. So grab your friends and family and have fun.
