Event Blurbs: Family Friendly Fall Events

Although the pandemic has put a halt on some traditional fall activities, there are still plenty of places to visit that embody that fall feeling. During this fall season, visit these family friendly places for people of all ages! For those who love the outdoors, here is a list of fun things to do!

1. Alpha & Omega Corn Maze
Visit this fun-filled place that includes hayrides, outdoor games, a pumpkin patch, etc. Most of their activities start at $11 per person and the group rate is $9 per person for 20 or more paying customers. Alpha & Omega Corn Maze is located at 1129 Cheek Road Hamptonville, which is roughly 30 minutes from Clemmons. Check out the website for hours and pricing at https://www.alphaomegacornmaze.com. Visiting is open through Nov. 11.

2. Pumpkin Patch Fall Fest
Looking for a great place for pictures? Bring your cellphone/camera and take pictures with friends and family at this fun Pumpkin Patch! There will be hayrides, a chicken stew, games, s’mores, and more. Find the perfect pumpkin to carve. For creative ideas for pumpkin carving, see Carving Out Some Fun: Ways to decorate your pumpkin, found on the Zephyr. Visit at 3671 Bowens Rd, Tobaccoville from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 17, hosted by A&B Farms-Tobaccoville.

3. Wizard of Oz Family Friendly Themed Events
Due to COVID-19, there will not be a Wizard of Oz trail this year. However, don’t let that stop you from seeing other Wizard of Oz themed events this fall. These events include Movie Night at LeBauer Park in Greensboro where they will be showing the Wizard of Oz and The AmOzing Race. Tickets are $7 per person for Movie Night at LeBauer Park, visit Oct. 30 at 6 p.m. Come run the AmOzing Race on Nov. 14-15 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. “Follow the yellow brick road” all the way to Greensboro.

4. Truck & Treat BOOsted
Save the date for a day full of fall fun. Check out Kaleideum North, located at 400 W Hanes Mill Road, only 15 minutes from Clemmons. There will be a balloon artist, food trucks, live entertainment, and other activities. Starting Oct. 31 at 11 a.m until 4 p.m.

5. Armstrong Artisan Farms
Stop by the corn maze, pet the animals at the petting zoo, and take home a pumpkin from the pumpkin patch! Armstrong Artisans Farms offers all of these activities and more. Armstrong Artisan Farms is located at 1499 Brook Cove Road, Walnut Cove, which is roughly 45 minutes from Clemmons. Check for updates and details at https://www.armstrongartisanfarm.com.
