Tyson Edwards, Co-Editor in Chief

Having written for the Zephyr since his sophomore year, Tyson Edwards has grown tremendously in his communication skills and comedic wit. Once an Opinion Writer and then an Opinion Editor, Edwards is ready to take on the challenge of Co-Editor in Chief. Edwards is fully invested in the newspaper and likes to provide a comedic spin to whatever he sets his mind to, most famously his annual food reviews. Who else would’ve been there to ask the big questions in life, like how is Maroon 5 still popular? Is college ruled paper truly better than its wide lined counterparts? And who really has the best chicken nuggets in Clemmons, North Carolina?

Shaking it up: What are the best milkshakes in town?

Tyson Edwards, Co-Editor in Chief November 20, 2019

Fall used to symbolize the harvest. Underneath the full moon, a farmer would carefully collect crops, inspecting their quality, and sell them to be able to provide food for his little farmer family along...

Since the dawn of existence, apps have facilitated all aspects of life. Need food delivered? There's an app for that. Need a ride, but don't have a car? There's an app for that too. Need to buy literally...

Maroon 5: A love that has taken its toll on me

Tyson Edwards, Opinion Editor February 18, 2019

Certain mysteries will forever haunt human history: How did Amelia Earhart go missing? What happened to Roanoke? Where did Malaysia flight 370 go? While these questions may never be answered, another mystery...

Why are people not keen on vaccines?

The needles and band-aids that are often associated with the doctor’s office as well spell fear for kids, but to a new group of people these shots can be seen as evil to an adult as well. Eighteen states...

Cursive is cursed

Tyson Edwards, Opinion Editor January 15, 2019

Read the writing on the wall: cursive is a relic of the past. Its absence from most elementary schools today should be a clear representation of that fact. Never once have I needed cursive to get through...

The Frank Spencer Tournament will be played at the LJVM Coliseum, which usually hosts college basketball and high school graduations.

Tyson Edwards, Opinion Editor December 24, 2018

It’s the most wonderful time of the year: basketball season. The holiday months mean age old traditions like putting up a Christmas tree, singing holiday carols and going to the Frank Spencer Tournament....

Tyson Edwards, Opinion Editor December 21, 2018

We all collect something. Regardless if you identify with the term “collector,” you subconsciously collect something. A lot of people collect memories in the form of photos; others collect clothes....

Generation Z has zero patience

Tyson Edwards, Mia Scott, Olivia Pratapas, and Kelly Kendall December 16, 2018

When you think of Generation Z, what do you think of? Our hard working attitude? Our crazy fashion trends? Or do you think of the tragic flaw in our personalities: our impatience? You may not want to believe...

Phones need to upgrade their innovation

Tyson Edwards, Opinion Editor November 23, 2018

Look at your phone; what do you see? You should probably see scratches and cracks like most teenagers’ phones. I dropped my phone last summer, and because of how karma worked out, I shattered the top...

Tyson Edwards, Opinion Editor October 31, 2018

I eat french fries almost every day. That is not a hyperbole, I am really that unhealthy. When I find myself asking my parents what's for dinner, they respond with “you have a car,” and the next thing...
