Students Say What: What’s the worst date you’ve experienced?
From the Walmart gun aisle to driving by his ex’s house, students and teachers all over campus have had eye-rolling bad date experiences that might just make your “bad date” look not too shabby after all.
“On the date, we were driving around after dinner and he asked if I wanted to see his ex-girlfriend’s house. I felt super awkward and uncomfortable and I panicked and said yes, and we did and then I ended things not too soon after,” senior Annalise Moody said.
“So me and my now ex went with my family to Tanglewood. We went on a walk and he kept running up to trees like an NPC and doing the stupid NPC wave, and sprinting away and hiding. He was also snapping his ‘family friend’ named Liz and was texting her most of that day,” sophomore Savannah Hunt said.
“She wanted to go out with me on Super Bowl Sunday and she was pestering me about it so I figured she could come over and watch the game with me. The entire game she was trying to talk and kiss, and I just wanted to focus on the game… yeah we didn’t work out,” senior Nolan Terlecki said.
“Dating was always an interesting experience, but nothing prepared me for my worst date. It was our first time going out, and he took me to the Walmart gun aisle and posed with different weapons while asking “Which one makes me the sexiest?” I left. English teacher Jaela Marshall said.
“Back when I was in high school, a guy had asked to take me to the movies. When we got there, I realized he had also invited some of his buddies. He ended up ignoring me for the rest of the night and just hung out with his friends. When he took me home, he parked the car in the culdesac trying to kiss me. I said ‘absolutely not’ and got out of the car and left,” English teacher Karen Fletcher said.
From awkward encounters to cringe-worthy moments, we’ve all had our fair share of disastrous dates that make us wonder if love truly is a battlefield.
