As homecoming inches closer, the village is preparing itself for its team’s win one day at a time. With spirit week, Titans are able to show their support for their school and excitement for homecoming not only inside, but also outside of the football field. If you want to participate in the fun, here are the themes for the end of the week and the start of the next:
Thursday, Oct. 9: Sports Day
The end of this week holds the start of the support with Sports Day, as titans are encouraged to wear all types of sporting paraphernalia. This includes, but is not limited to, West and college shirts, jerseys, sweatshirts, hats and many more.
Friday, Oct. 10: Grill Dad vs. Soccer Mom Day
The stereotypes of grill dad and a soccer mom are being brought to West on Friday, where students are encouraged to dress up as either a jort and flannel-wearing dad sweating over hot hamburger buns, or a van mom with too many sports events to take her kids to.
Wednesday, Oct. 15: Twin Day
After Columbus Day and a teacher work day, it’s the perfect time to match with your best friend, significant other, or sibling. Think matching colors, hairstyles, clothes, along with much more.
Thursday, Oct. 16: Holiday Day
Holiday Day is for students to dress as their favorite holiday through their outfits. All holidays can be represented, so be creative and find ways to incorporate your favorite day into your outfit.
Friday, Oct. 17: Green and Gold/Game Day
Friday is the day West takes on RJ Reynolds for their homecoming game, so make sure you are decked out in green-and-gold-everything, West shirts, sweatshirts and other accessories, then be sure to come for the game later that evening.
This spirit week is a chance to show your support for West and the football team, so be sure to dress out for the game and take every chance to wish the team good luck on their homecoming game.
