If a team or an individual stands on a podium at the end of the state playoffs, that’s an extraordinary feat. The beach volleyball team this year had three duos that placed top three in the state playoffs.
The girls’ sand volleyball team had a successful run this year, including sophomore Aurora Rosa and sophomore Hadley Lichty, who placed second. The team beat Reagan in the championship 2-1.
On the boys’ side, senior Chance Beckmann and senior Seth Cockerham placed third, while junior Liam Shugart and freshman Jackson Arnaez placed second. Going into the season, expectations were already high after having a duo place in the top three last year, and even with expectations set so high, the Titans still exceeded them. Beckmann was especially delighted with how the season turned out.
“It was so fun, we did better than I thought we would, and we went all the way to number three in the state,” Beckmann said.
Chemistry with your partner is a must-have in beach volleyball
Overall, both the girls’ and boys’ teams had a fantastic season.
