Another season, another trophy for the girls lacrosse team, as they remain the Conference champs for the second year in a row. Not only did the team clutch the title as Conference champs, as a team beat Reynolds 22 to 7 and the final matchup, but they also met some personal goals within the team. Many records were broken this season. Junior attacker Gaby Vestal reached 100 career goals and 200 career points, junior attacker Brighde Mullen reached 100 career assists and senior goalie Kathrine Ezell reached 200 career saves.
“It was really great to get over 100 career goals and have 200 career points. I love the game and I love playing attack,” Vestal said.
Six girls were awarded All-conference: senior team captain midfielder Kayleigh Mutkiss, junior defender Isa Gill, sophomore midfielder Sara Gurley, Vestel, Mullen and sophomore Tatum Snow.
“It was amazing to earn the All-Conference award, especially since I was out and I came back from an injury,” Mullen said.
Snow was a key player on the team this year. Snow has over 150 career goals in counting, and has over 200 career points in counting all as a sophomore. With all of her achievements this season, Snow was dubbed Offensive Player of the Year.
The team is the fifth seed in the playoffs and will play on Friday.
