From being back-to-back to back, conference champions, and having an overall record of 26 – 2 so far, there’s not much this team hasn’t accomplished.
“We all work really well together and all come together and play as a team and put our all into what we have on the field. We are very grateful for how far we have come and are working our hardest to meet team goals and personal goals,” senior McKinley Wall said.
Not only did the teams strive as a whole the team also had some key players that stuck out, including senior Sydney Horton, who broke a School record. Horton, who is committed to play softball at the University of Chapel Hill, has an impressive 200 career hits and counting, which has earned her the record holder for most career hits in West softball history. Horton was also named the Athlete of the Year and Conference Player of the Year.
All Conference players include Horton, sophomore Morgan Maxwell, Wall, senior Madison Barringer, senior Tamia Sales and sophomore Lillian Parker.
Maxwell was named the conference pitcher of the year with 82 strikeouts.
With the team’s phenomenal success in the conference, we can expect them to advance very far in the playoffs.
