Tennising Titans: A look back on a record-breaking season
The boy’s tennis team made history this season by winning the CPC conference championship for the fifth year in a row. The team had an overall record of 12-2 and 10-1 in conference play, ultimately winning the CPC championship.
Senior team captain Sean Cooper won CPC Player of the Year for singles and went undefeated this year. Cooper won the conference tournament, placed 4th in regionals and is the first state qualifier in West history.
“The season has gone well; we’ve pulled out a lot of close matches. I think the guys cheering for each other and building each other up have played a large role in that,” Cooper said.

Another key leader on the team was senior John Howell. Howell got a tricky draw and lost to the eventual runner-up in the first round. Senior Noah Trenchard and sophomore Levi Trenchard played doubles.
On and off the court, Robert Dusart has made a tremendous impact on the tennising titans. Dusart is said to be the heart and soul of the team, he is always cheering on his teammates and putting together the team camaraderie despite being only a sophomore and first-year tennising titans. Cooper and Dusart were a dynamic duo.
“My favorite teammate is Robert Dusart, I always enjoyed being around Robert and having him watch my matches. He always pumped me up. I am in love with Robert Dusart,” Cooper said. The team has gone through many ups and downs, with some tough losses every now and then this season, yet one of the best moments was beating their rivals, Reagan and playing well as a team.
