From never winning a single game last season and being ranked very last in the conference, the boys lacrosse team has made a huge turnaround. This year, the boy ranked fourth in the conference and had a dramatically different record of 5-8.
“We have made a lot of improvements from the previous years and have come a long way. Though we did not win every game, we put in a lot of effort and worked together as a team,” senior captain attacker Grayson Brandon said.
This year, the boys have accumulated over 200 goals versus the 63 goals they had last year. Key shooters on the team have been: Brandon, junior attacker Cole Tisdale, senior midfielder Haegen Paschold and senior midfielder Mio Lester. Brandon and Tisdale have the title of top shooters on the team, although they are also record breakers and holders. Brandon currently holds the record for All-Time Points Leader and is the All-Time leading scorer. Tisdale holds the record for most points in a season and is the single-season scoring record holder.
“I put in a lot of work this season and I am very happy with my results, but I could not have done it without my teammates,” Tisdale said.
Another key factor to the ball hitting the back of the net has started at the face-off. Senior Jack Peterson and junior Riley Martin have impressively won the ball more than half the time.
Goals and faceoffs aren’t the only things the team is striving in; the team’s defense has had over 100 turnovers and has been running a high-pressure, skilled defense.
With seniors graduating, there will be many shoes left to fill, however, the team’s comeback and success this year will be one to remember for years to come.
