Junior pitcher Greyson Jones’ heat-seeking fastball has had many in shambles. Jones is feared among the competition, having two no-hitters in one month. This is no small feat, judging by the fact that, on average, throwing a no-hitter in high school is around 1 in 1,500 games. So Jones throwing two in one month is unbelievable.
“It was super cool, but also a little disappointing. I didn’t get the perfect game, but can’t be upset with my second no-hitter,” Jones said.
Much of Jones’s inspiration for baseball was originally his father, but as he grew, baseball became more than just a game to him.
“I first started playing baseball because of my dad, and he always played, so I followed suit. It means a lot to me as more than just a game due to friends and the opportunity opened because of baseball,” Jones said.
Even though he is able to accomplish this much on the field during in free time, he stays busy.
“When I’m not practicing baseball, I hang out with friends and play MLB The Show,” Jones said.
Jones’s next step in his baseball career is to focus on improving his skills and scouting colleges since his junior year is winding down.
“After high school, I plan to go play in college and get a degree. I haven’t decided where yet, though,” Jones said.
Jones has had a very successful career so far as a Titan, and his accomplishments playing baseball continue to grow.
