Due to the new academic calendar this school year, prom was moved from late to early April this year; it occurred on Saturday April 5th. Like Titan tradition, prom took place in downtown at the Millennium Center. The competition for the best theme was intense, but the winning theme for this year’s prom was “A Starry Night”.
“It was one of three options chosen by our small prom committee, along with Under the Sea and A Black and Tie Affair. From there, the juniors and seniors voted and ‘A Starry Night’ won,” prom advisor Carla Lovely said.
The prom committee is made up of juniors, seniors and the advisor Ms. Lovely. Everyone chooses what they think the best theme is for the students, and the accessories, decorations at the chosen venue.
“They choose the possible themes, color palette, and court accessories like the crowns, tiaras, and sashes,” Lovely said.
At prom there were many different activities to enjoy and make the night memorable. There was a photoshoot to take pictures with all of your friends, a 360 camera to take a fun video to look back on and there were also refreshments provided for the students.
“The snacks were delicious and they had water for everyone, which was nice,” said junior Corben Johnson.
“I was worried about the venue being too hot, but it wasn’t and I loved seeing all of my friends there and hanging out with them,” said junior Anna Wilmoth.
We want to congratulate the winners of prom court:

Senior Daryion Lee (King)
Senior Destiny Jordan (Queen)
