Prom is a stressful time for everyone. Shopping for clothes, making restaurant reservations, and finding a date or groups of friends to go with can be difficult, and highly expensive. Sometimes, the cost is just too much, but some students seem to have decided not to worry about paying.
Yesterday, the staff in charge of selling Prom tickets discovered several counterfeit dollar bills mixed in with the rest of the sales.
“Prom is supposed to be a time to celebrate the end of the year. I can’t believe someone would go to such extreme lengths to cheat the system,” Junior Prom Committee member Dallas Martins said.
The fakes were scattered throughout the profits, making it impossible to know exactly who is responsible for this. This anonymity has prompted the admin to cancel any Prom tickets purchased yesterday. Anyone who purchased a ticket yesterday must return to repurchase, and they will not be refunded for their initial ticket.
“Something like this is very difficult to deal with in a manner that benefits everyone. Everyone will have to bear a bit of the burden until we find out who is responsible.” CTE teacher and ticket sales worker Marc Belov said.
Those who have purchased their tickets with legal tender should repurchase as soon as possible, as there is no guarantee that the perpetrators will be discovered. Those who used the counterfeit money should report themselves immediately and seek out a lawyer.
In this complex web of unknown deception, there is one aspect of this sham that is known for certain, and that the only counterfeit here is this article. This is simply a joke created for your amusement. Happy April Fools everybody, have a good Prom.
