When it comes to gift-giving, not everyone is an easy buy. Some people have interests that can make it tricky or even impossible to find a gift for. But when it comes to buying a gift for a significant other, nine times out of ten it’s truly the thought that counts. Here are four creative and crafty gift ideas for your next date or act of affection.
Baskets
Holiday baskets have been on the rise this past year. Boo baskets, Christmas baskets and Valentines Day baskets have been very popular online. Not only is this gift super versatile and easy but it is also customizable, so you can make sure your partner loves everything they receive. All you need is a cute basket and colorful tissue paper before adding in all your partner’s favorites. Candy, snacks, gift cards, love notes, socks and stuffed animals are all some simple inclusions you can put in the basket.
Handmade Flowers
When it comes to gifts for your partner, flowers are your best friend. Although you are basically guaranteed a happy reaction, sometimes flowers can feel like they lack effort, so why not put your own spin on it and make your own? You can make it out of yarn, ribbon, paper, felt, LEGO or even candy. If your partner doesn’t know how to preserve flowers this is a perfect way to keep them over time, unless she eats the candy ones. You can also spice up the bouquet by taping things they like to skewer sticks and putting them in with the flowers. You could include Pokémon card packs, gift cards, notes or their favorite snacks.
Love Note Jar
If you or your partner’s love language is words of affirmation then this craft is for you. Find a jar and fill it up with any kind of love notes you’d like. You can fill it up with cut out pieces of paper with your kiss marks on one side and affirmations on the other. “Open when…” notes are also a cute idea if you want the gift to last longer. You could also make it interactive by issuing fake coupons for free hugs or date ideas you both draw when you need a fun new adventure.
Diy Photo Booth for Memories
If you have more free time and are more on the crafty side then plug in your hot glue gun and find some old boxes for this sentimental gift. Design your own photo booth on a piece of cardboard leaving a slot for a place to pull out the collage. Cut a long strip of paper and glue little photos of you and your partner together. Then fold it up and tuck in in the slot, leaving a sliver out so they can pull out the memories. While this gift requires more creativity, it will definitely be worth it.
Regardless of what you decide to give your partner, it’s always the thought that counts. Worry less on how much they will like it and more on getting your efforts across.
