As the semester comes to a close, students prepare for their exams and Christmas break is on the horizon, one week stands out from the others. These holiday themes are another opportunity after the Homecoming spirit week for students to dress up and show their spirit, and this year’s themes are nothing if not spirit-showing.
Monday: Color Day
The week starts off slow with a simple color scheme theme. The underclassmen wear red, while the upperclassmen wear green. The staff will be tying the whole day together by wearing white to create a holiday collage.
Tuesday: Holiday Hats and Socks
For those who always get socks in their stockings, today is the day to shine. Only the most festive socks and wildest hats will be allowed on this day, allowing even our extremities to dress up. Santa and elf hats, reindeer antlers, wool stockings and whatever else fits will be welcomed
Wednesday: Christmas Character Day
Anyone who’s ever seen a Christmas movie can participate on this day. As everyone is dressing as a film, show, book or story character from all of Christmas lore, a simple sweater can be Kevin McCallister, or an overcoat can be Ebenezer Scrooge.
Thursday: Ugly Sweater Day
This is the perfect day to show off what Grandma made last year. All social norms are cast aside, as this is the day for the ugliest holiday sweater to be seen. Scratchy, poorly printed eyesores are highly encouraged.
Friday: Pajama Day
The final day of the week is Pajama Day – the day everyone can come to school just as they rolled out of bed. Dress code will still be enforced so make sure the outfit that is chosen adheres to the rules. Themed onesies, festive two-pieces and colorful bathrobes are expected to be on full display.
This week is a chance for everyone to have a little bit of fun while getting through those last days before winter break. Try to participate in this great chance to have some pre-exam fun and whatever holiday you celebrate, have a very happy holiday season.
