Here Comes the Sun: A 2024 summer guide
The UV is up and the cold weather is gone; summer weather is here to stay, so why not start preparing now? Here is a guide for this warm season to enjoy the summer fun.
Tanning Tips and Suncare
To achieve that tan you have been waiting for all year these products could help enhance your tan. A popular tanning enhancer is the Maui Babe Browning Lotion. A quick tip for this is to use a tanning mitt since it tends to be messy, and also make sure to flip so nothing burns. Remember, while using tanning lotion, still apply sunscreen. Apply sunscreen first, then the lotion. If one does end up burning while sunbathing, there are solutions. Aloe vera or a lotion with aloe in it is a quick relief for a sunburn. Another thing that may be beneficial is to freeze aloe in an ice cube tray before the summer outing, so cold aloe is there afterward in case of a painful sunburn.
Summer Drinks
While relaxing by the pool, enjoy a cold drink and a sweet treat. Mix fruit of any choice with any juice for a fruity mocktail. Add ice and throw the fruit and the juice into a blender for a fruit freeze. For a relaxing watermelon drink, add watermelon, squeeze two limes, mint and soda water. Mix it all together for a delicious summer drink.
Bathing Suits
One place that never seems to fail is Target, since they have all kinds of bathing suits for different body types. The bathing suits also range in color and patterns leaving many options to choose from.
Pickleball or Tennis
Hit the court this summer and try pickleball or tennis. No need for an expensive racket, stores like Five Below have a selection of rackets for both, as well as tennis balls and pickleballs. Tanglewood has courts for both activities, which are available to use after paying the park’s two dollar entry fee.
With all these tips in mind, make sure to enjoy the summer’s warm weather and “H.A.G.S.”
