Falling for Food: Local Foods for the Fall Season

Fall is upon us and many local places have put out “spicy” autumn foods, drinks and other specialty items to make fall feel like fall. All these treats and goodies will have you falling.
The Coffee Mill: Drinking a fall-flavored latte brings a one-time-a-year feeling within the first sip. The Coffee Mill in Lewisville has a new fall menu, with latte options including; the Great Pumpkin, The Maple Leaf, Cinnamon French Toast, Brown Sugar Spice, Caramel Apple and S’mores. Not only do they have new seasonal lattes, but they also offer desserts. Take a bite of fall with their homemade pumpkin chocolate chip bread. When walking into The Coffee Mill some West students were enjoying a fall menu item.
“Coming here after school is one of my favorite things to do. I was very excited to see what lattes and desserts they would come up with for fall,” sophomore Zoey Krause said.
Ava’s Cupcakes: In the mood for cupcakes? Ava’s Cupcakes, winner of “Food Network Cupcake Wars” and title holder of “The Best Cupcakes in America” by The Daily Meal, has new flavors with an autumn twist; The flavors include; S’mores, Toasted Coconut, Cinnamon Pumpkin and Apple Pie (This flavor won “Food Network Cupcake Wars”) just in time for the season.
First Watch: Wanna wake up and enjoy a fall breakfast? First Watch restaurant has a seasonal breakfast menu including Caramel Crunch Cinnamon Roll, Pumpkin Pancake Breakfast, Brisket Corned Beef Hash and Modern Croque Madame. You can sit down at the restaurant or enjoy at the comfort of your own home and put on your favorite fall movie by ordering online.
The Clemmons Country Store: Still need more fall? The Country Store has an assortment of different foods and treats such as pumpkin butter spread, pumpkin curry soup, fresh picked apples and apple cider.They also have non-food options, they have pumpkins, mums in all different colors, and spooky decor to display for trick or treaters.
Of course with all of these treats comes the trick, they will vanish after the season and will not return until next year so be sure to treat yourself and fall for food.
