Thanking Teachers: Appreciation Week

We should all say thanks to the teachers that do so much to support us.

We should all say thanks to the teachers that do so much to support us.

Teacher appreciation week is here, and it’s important to show the teachers just how much we value what they do for us. It’s about making them aware that no matter how much students may joke, they will always care for their teachers.
Teacher appreciation week is a way for us students to show that we care for them and the stress that they go through just to have a good lesson plan for the week. It’s a week that allows us to give back to the people that give us a lot.
You could get your teachers a range of things from a gift card to a local business or simply a hand-written note thanking them for their hard work like creating lesson plans or coming up with interactive assignments; it’s the thought and thanking them that matters the most. Some other ideas could be giving a gift and using a pun with it, for example, give your teacher a fortune cookie and say “I’m fortunate to have you as my teacher this year!”. Anything related to that is a great way to show your appreciation to your teachers this year.
It’s one week out of the whole school year that teachers get recognition for all that they do, and it’s important, this year especially, to show them that what they are doing is making a difference. It’s equally important that teachers get as much free time and relaxation as we do. It means a lot to teachers that they get a week like this. Even students visiting and talking to them to make them feel appreciated is also a great gift. “It’s easy to feel appreciated at a school like West but when you see the appreciation all around and the social media posts, it’s more than just a bag of goodies at the office, and it means a lot more than that; It’s the students energy that helps keep the teachers going too.”Mr Memory said.

No matter what you do this upcoming week just keep in mind that this is the teachers’ exclusive week to celebrate them and all they do for us and how important it is to recognize that. Remember to stay safe, and celebrate our teachers!
